Hello, Adventure-Raisers! I know this isn’t the topic I wanted to talk about this week, but if I’m being honest, I’m late to post and too burnt out to post anything very well. Little Dragon, Orin, and I had a… a very bad session. So, I’ll post this just to remind us all that bad sessions, bad days… well… they just happen.
So, in short, the session got rescheduled at short notice and the babysitter’s schedule couldn’t shift in accordance. Little Dragon is going through a growth spurt in jitters, and sitting for long periods really doesn’t suit him anymore. Now, I’ve followed my own advice and we hosted the game, and the room was fine for him to be in, and we had all the snacks ready, but it wasn’t enough. Little Dragon wanted to hug me, wanted to run, wanted to steal snacks, wanted to cry… all the overwhelming stuff. By the end of the two hour session we were all about to crack open.
But it won’t be the last time my son comes to the table. Not by the half. One bad (and I do mean bad) day is far better than a boring life of the same good day over and over. Bad days make you learn, and learning gives you more good days. I’m still too raw to figure out the lesson right now, lol, but I’ll think of it.
Anyway, that’s about all I have for you good folks tonight. I know we’ve all had these kinds of days, and I’m here to commiserate if you ever need it. Remember, you’re not on this journey alone! And I hope your weekend is brighter!
